Grandcross alignment ~ Prayers for the earth and her children.

This month two friends and myself had felt the strong calling to hold two days of prayer first at the Besakih Mother temple of Bali, perched on the Agung Volcano, followed by a gathering with sacred intention inviting our Ubud Community for this Grand alignment in my home base in Ubud, meditation prayers and song.

Mt Agung.

We had listened to the whispers in our hearts, the silent call of the earth and her children and atuned to the invitation of the elementals and the need for our prayers.

We arrived at Mt. Agung at 5:30pm. Having felt the need for balance and the energy of the masculine we had invited and were now honoured with the presence of three men, with the added blessing of one of those men being a respected guide and local to Bali. Though we were there to carry our prayers in our own respective ways, we had also asked Made to administer prayers on behalf of us in alignment with the Hindu Balinese tradition.

Prior to entering the main complex, we made a visit to the cave temple of the Naga's, honouring these ancient earth energies and asking permission for entry. After we headed up into the main complex

We found the temple alive with life, as this alignment coincided with the largest of Besakih celebrations, gods and ancestral honouring ceremonies. After sunset we saw the throngs of tourists exit the temple, leaving a truly authentic experience of Besakih temple. Winding the clock back in time, to an age where the Hindu Empire reighn over Indonesia, stepping through the veil into the ancient. I felt a deep gratitude to be witness to these ceremonies still alive in Bali today.

Besakih is a massive and magnificent complex of temples we visited 6 of the main temples ( there are 23 temples in Besakih not including family shrines). Besakih is the most important Temple of Bali, the largest and holiest temple of Hindu religion in Bali. Situated nearly 1000 meters up the slope of Gunung Agung, home of the gods for the Balinese. The Balinese believe that Mount Agung is a replica of Mount Meru, the central axis of the universe. One legend tells that the Volcano is a fragment of Meru placed in Bali. My feeling is that Mt Agung and Mt Batur are also relational and possibly completely aligned with the major two dragon/ serpent planetary lines. It seemed to me that the honouring the Nagas at the entry are part honouring these two dragon lines.

We then proceeded through the 4 directional temples guided by Made, honouring the elements and associated guardian gods, offering our prayers, until we finally reached the central temple.

Prayers in gratitude for the bountiful earth, cleansing and blessings for the waters, land, air and fire on this earth, in all living and sentient beings, and for the awakening for all.

I felt such immense gratitude to be alive, to be gifted with the longing of prayer in my heart, and to have a life graced with abundance, beautiful friends and a life of plenty.

I prayed for those who have forgotten how to pray. Prayer is an act of surrender and also communion, it is an embodied experience guided by the most mysterious part of ourselves. When we pray for ourselves, for others, for the earth and nature, we are offering a gift but we are also receiving in our prayer, it is a communion. In that communion, what we life within and without is energised, and revitalised. The earth needs our prayers, our communion with it, our song and our sacred dances, and most importantly so do we, we are restored and renewed in harmony.

I feel the longing in my heart to be service and grow, and that service is for myself and all humanity. The simplicity of being, and sharing that is growing.
